Traditional and algorithmic power

[Translate to Englisch:]

The terms "elite" and "lodge" are associated with a very specific idea of "traditional" power. In network theory, the formula of power is: "power= resources x networking". Resources are both material and immaterial, for example money, income and assets (financial capital) on the one hand and knowledge, skills and ideas (cultural capital) on the other. These resources, and this is the second factor in the power formula, can only be allocated and accumulated in and through social relationships (social capital), which represent the channels of access for them. According to the logics of gift, credit and exchange, the available resources are invested in relationships and recovered with the intention of multiplying them in the course of this "game". According to this conception, power is the ability to accumulate resources through social relationships.
